And there, they saw something impossible.

A pool of blood spread across the floor of the ruin. Vivid red had been splattered across the blue stone. Beside the pool lay the remains of two Flower Rank girls. Their skin had been flayed and their bodies opened up as though someone had neatly dissected them.
Not much time had passed since the transmission. This eerie sight shouldnât have been possible.
Before the lumps of flesh stood a personâa man with long white hair. His all-white clothes were soaked with a bright-red liquid.
The man looked dazed, like he didnât know what heâd done or even who he was. But there were chunks of flesh crammed beneath his nails and intestines wrapped around his fingers.
Why was there another human in the ruins?
Doubt filling his mind, Kou asked, âDid youâ¦do this?â
Had this man killed Kouâs companions? Had he turned themâthe members of Pandemonium whoâd managed to survive the Gloamingâinto pitiful chunks of meat?
âDid you kill them?!â
ââ¦Kou,â said White Princess, âI donât think it matters how many times you ask him.â
Yurie nodded in agreement as she rubbed her eyes. Shirai remained silent, his arms crossed. Sasanoe, too, said nothing, but he kept his sword at the ready.
The next person to speak was Black Princess. âThat thingâ¦is probably not human.â
Suddenly, the man turned to look directly at Kou and the others.
His eyes had a mysterious red glow to them, like they were made of glass.
Black Princess spoke again. âItâsâ¦a kihei!â
âAh, how long it has been,â said the man. âThe black princess, our former queen.â Then he smiled and snapped his fingers.
Kou, White Princess, and Black Princess instantly disappeared from the room.
Their vision went white.

When they came to, they were inside an entirely white room. In the center was a twisted, long table made from warped stone, along with some chairs. The man was sitting in one of them, staring at Kou and the Princesses, an elegant smile still on his lips.
After a few seconds, Kou realized what had happened.
âForced teleportation?â
Teleportation magic required extremely high skill. It was incredibly difficult for a human to accomplish it without the help of a magic device. That was especially the case when you were trying to teleport someone against their will. But this man had done it in an instant.
This was incredibly odd.
The Princesses stepped forward to protect Kou. As they did, the man calmly introduced himself.
âI am the new king of the kihei. Unfortunately, I donât yet have a name.â
ââ¦A kihei that can speak?â asked Kou.
âIs that really so surprising? Those of your Princess Series can speak, after all. Itâs absurd that you would be taken aback by something youâve already seen demonstrated.â The man shrugged. Despite what he was saying, the average kihei was not capable of communication, and Kou was shocked by this exception. The man gave an intelligent smile and said, âI do apologize for earlier. Itâs been so long since Iâve met a human. I just had to see what was inside.â
ââ¦You bastard.â
